v48.4.0Denari
The suit of Coins in the Italian Neapolitan deck — the most strategically important suit in Scopa.
Definition
Denari (coins or gold) is one of the four suits in the Neapolitan deck and the most strategically significant suit in Scopa. The player who captures the most denari cards scores 1 point in the denari scoring category. The suit also contains the settebello (7 of coins) — an automatic 1-point score for whoever captures it — and the napoletane bonus for capturing the Ace, 2, and 3 of coins. The 7 of denari also carries the highest primiera value. In Briscola, denari becomes the trump suit when the initial trump card is a coin card, making all coin cards the dominant suit for that hand.
