Definition

Napoletane is an optional bonus scoring category used in many regional Scopa variations. A player scores napoletane if they capture the Ace (Asso), 2, and 3 of Coins (denari) in the same hand. Some rule sets award 1 point for collecting all three; others award progressive bonus points if you manage to capture more of the low coins sequence. The napoletane rule adds an extra layer of strategy because those three cards are individually low-value, but collectively very rewarding — players must decide whether to chase the napoletane or focus on the standard scoring categories (carte, denari, settebello, primiera).
