v48.4.0Settebello
The 7 of Coins — the single most famous card in Italian card games, automatically worth 1 point in Scopa.
Definition
The settebello ('beautiful seven') is the 7 of Coins (denari) in the Neapolitan deck. In Scopa and Scopone it is a standalone scoring category: the player who captures the settebello at any point during the hand automatically scores 1 point, regardless of any other scores. Its name reflects the prestige attached to this card — in Italian culture it is shorthand for a stroke of luck or a key advantage. The settebello appears on the Neapolitan deck as an ornate golden coin surrounded by intricate decorations, making it visually distinct from all other cards in the deck.
